Chicago – Part 1 of 3

We have such fond memories of our first trip to Chicago: the shopping, attractions, and the food!

H still talks about Chicago Deep Dish Pizza. This is not your average pizza – the crust is out of this world. Even if you only like thin crust pizza, no trip to Chicago is complete without trying it! We are definitely craving this right now!

Some of the highlights of our trip were:

Magnificent Mile & Water Tower Place – H and I shopped on Michigan Avenue three times during our stay. We just couldn’t cover it in one day. Bring comfortable running shoes; it really is a retail fantasy!

Navy Pier– There is so much to see and do! Navy Pier has a free trolley that operates during certain months of the year. We were able to hop on within a very short walking distance of our hotel.

and Burrito Beach – H and I really enjoyed the burritos!

The hotel we stayed at offered a complimentary buffet breakfast, soft drinks, tea and coffee, fresh fruit and a light dinner buffet complete with wine and beer. There were so many amazing restaurants in Chicago, so we only tried the light dinner buffet once. It was “Brazilian” night, and it was quite good.

I was also addicted to the waffles each morning. The malt powder makes the waffles extra scrumptious. I tried to find the waffle mix when we came home, but found out the company (Carbon’s) is located in the U.S.
